Premier League season 2 information

After the success of the first edition which gathered more than 5 millions spectators, the Premier League is proud to announce his second season.

A total of 12 teams will have the opportunity to prove their worth in an e-sports equivalent of any other full-fletched sports league, with weekly matches in which the teams will accumulate points and compete for the total prize pool of $10,000.
The matches (one per day) will be played each week from Tuesday to Friday at 1800 CET and on weekends at 1700 CET, with a break on Monday. Each match will be decided in a best-of-3 format where the winning team gets 1 point and the losing team 0 point. It will be commented by Luminous with special guests joining him regularly at the micro.

The 2nd season will be played over a period of three months with a total of 66 matches between the participants. The Dota 2 Premier League will officially start on the 17th of April, 2012.

The Premier League prize will be divided as follows

1st $5,000
2nd $3,000
3rd $2,000

Moreover, we have received a lot of feedback from the community and we took them into consideration in order to push the entertainment at his best for the season 2. Changelog from season 1 to season 2

Game format optimized from best-of-2 to best-of-3. The winning team gets 1 point and the losing team gets 0 point.
Schedule improvement with 1 match played every day. (1800 cet for weekdays and 1700 cet for weekend with a break on Monday).
Number of teams invited increased from 10 to 12.
Invitations sent to American and European teams only.
